I am signed up with ATN, so why don’t I hear about all of the jobs in my area?

Why didn’t I get the job when I’m qualified?

How come I never heard back about from those part time weekend jobs?

Answers For You!

Our goal at ATN is to give you an amazing experience! We want you to find fun and exciting work that you’ll enjoy.

Additionally, we understand that oftentimes working as a brand ambassador is a stepping stone to other bigger opportunities. We want nothing more than for you to succeed in both your work with ATN and with your other personal and professional goals.

That’s why it’s important that you know how this process works, and why you should NEVER get discouraged if you don’t land a certain job.

Here are the answers to your burning questions along with tips to help you land more work that you love.

I am signed up with brand ambassador staffing agencies so why don’t I hear about all of the jobs in my area?

Let’s use a real world example to bring this to life.

Let’s say there is an event for an energy drink company coming to Los Angeles, California.

An agency will recruit people to work this event. Our job is to find the best people for the event, which means that we want to recruit as many great and qualified people as possible.

This is why you’ll see job postings in your area even though you haven’t gotten an email about the job.

Another thing to point out is that the brand client, who in this case is the energy drink company, will have certain requirements for staff.

For example, they may require that people have at least 3 years of experience, and if you only have 1 year you won’t hear about the job.

Another example is costume character jobs. Usually the costumes only come in one size, which means that we need to find people that will fit into the costume. If the costume will only fit somebody who is 5 foot 5 inches or less you won’t be getting an email about the job if you are taller!

The point is, there are several reasons why you may not be qualified for certain jobs, and that’s ok, because there is plenty of other work out there for you. Like I said in the beginning, don’t get discouraged.

Why didn’t I get the job when I’m qualified?

Like any other industry, getting work is competitive and you want to do everything you can to stand out.

Sometimes we have hundreds of people who are qualified and only 10 jobs to fill.

How come I never heard back about that job?

This is something we must apologize for and it’s a common problem among staffing agencies.

Any given week we are recruiting and hiring for thousands of jobs nationwide.

Unlike more traditional jobs, most of the work is very short term.

Which means you might not get work one week but then land 3 gigs the very next week!

Since there is so much going on at all times, it is very difficult to follow up with every job that you apply for and don’t land.

Please don’t take that as a sign that you aren’t qualified for any work with ATN or any other agency.

As previously mentioned, there are many reasons why one specific job just might not be the right fit for you.

What can you do to stand out?

A few things!

1- Keep your agency profile updated OFTEN. Once a month, login and update your resume and photos as frequently as you can. This is how agencies know you are still in the market for work. Set a reminder on your calendar to alert you once a month to do this. Sit down and invest an hour to update things.

2- Update your profile photos. Be sure to include a 3/4 or full body shot and head shot. These do not have to be professional! Since we cannot meet you face-to-face in person, this is the next best thing. A smiling, professionally dressed employee is who we are seeking. Imagine this as a virtual job interview. Your photos should reflect how you would walk into an office for an interview.

3-Accept a back-up role. It might not seem like it’s worth the time but it’s a quick entry into the brand ambassador field. Check here to learn more about the back-up booking process.

The Final Word

I hope this helps to answer some of the questions you had about why you haven’t been hired for certain brand ambassador jobs.

And don’t forget…

Never get discouraged! Keep applying to jobs that interest you and always keep your profile updated.
