Position: Senior Estimator
Compensation: Salary between $60k – $80k
Location: Chicago, IL
Overview
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leadership and organization of the Estimating department. All scheduling and estimating assignments will run through this position. Departmental estimating standards will be tracked and enforced by the Senior Estimator along with the establishment of new and better methodologies for fabrication and materials. This position will also be expected to perform as an estimator and adhere to the established protocol for the position.
Job Duties
- Manages and schedules the Estimating Department.
- Creates, implements and enforces all departmental standards.
- Seeks efficiencies in both estimating processes and communication techniques.
- Active participant in the Management Team.
- Creates estimate documents and reviews with Account Executive/Manager.
- Provides the necessary consistency in estimate verbiage and descriptions.
- Provides viable engineering solutions and their documentation for estimate production.
- Produces an Estimate Package for when a project is sold.
- Responsible for the creation of efficient, effective, safe and economical (at or below budget) estimates that meet the needs of the design and show service requirements.
- Provides project timelines that take into account all internal and external constraints.
- Responsible for the coordination of all departmental or interdepartmental meetings for assigned project estimates.
- Leads all Put to Work Meetings.
- Responsible for the storage of all electronic and hard copy files to include client, EDE drawings, sketches and artwork.
- Seeks out and confirms viability of new Vendors.
- Seeks out new materials to support the design efforts of the organization.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining all estimating files.
- Is the primary troubleshooter for assigned estimating projects. Brings the appropriate people together to provide solutions.
- Performs any other duties or tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Management Team.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience managing an estimating department in the Trade Show Industry.
- Minimum of 3-4 years estimating experience in the Tradeshow Industry.
- Requires 3-4 years’ experience reading CAD drawing and Design Renderings.
- Advanced knowledge of construction, carpentry, joinery, extension systems, and finishing processes.
- Experience with AUTOCAD and MS Office software.
