About: At New York Cares, we know our city is at its best when we work together to address the most pressing needs of our communities. New Yorkers step up in times of uncertainty. It happened after 9/11 and Hurricane Sandy, and we see the same response for COVID-19.
We know our work is vital now more than ever as our city’s most vulnerable residents are disproportionately affected by COVID-19. As the city’s lead agency designated by New York City Emergency Management for mobilizing volunteers in cases of citywide emergencies, we are staying in regular communication with city agencies on how we can make the most direct and meaningful impact at this time.
In partnership with the city’s Volunteer Coordination Task Force, we are committed to harnessing the passions of caring New Yorkers in a way that supports their safety and the safety of the people we serve.

Whether it’s on-the-ground or in a virtual setting, New York Cares offers a range of ways for you to support New Yorkers suffering as a result of COVID-19. Help prepare or deliver food, conduct wellness checks with individuals living in isolation, tutor students virtually, and much more.
