LinkedIn is a valuable networking site that experiential and event marketing professionals often use to connect with other industry professionals and share ideas. But, one of the most overlooked tools that the social media network has to offer is LinkedIn Groups. With hundreds of groups dedicated to the event industry, these online communities are a great place to make new connections, view and share relevant job opportunities, and exchange valuable information. Plus, having a group to turn to during this time of uncertainty in the industry is comforting.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out some of these groups, we highly recommend that you do! To help you get a jumpstart on your group memberships, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorites below. Happy networking!
This group is powered by Event Marketer magazine and is a highly active group with over 125k members. The focus of this group is to connect professionals in the live events industry – from trade show professionals to experiential and event marketers to event producers and creatives.
Event Marketing Worldwide is a “professional thought leadership group dedicated to event, experiential, and integrated digital media marketing” and is used to stimulate thinking, exchange ideas, and cultivate discussions surrounding the value of live brand experiences.
Event Marketing Pros is an excellent group for both professionals and anyone else who has an interest in event marketing. Group members often share great content, ideas, thoughts, and trends.
This group is for people who have an interest in “experiential marketing, brand experience, customer experience management, and brand advocacy programs.”
BizBash – Event Planners Gather is a group for event professionals who are interested in networking and sharing best practices and ideas in the event industry.
EventPros is a large event community comprised of 150k event professionals from around the globe. The group shares valuable information for event marketers, managers, exhibiting and conference professionals, meeting planners, and event organizers.
Gain insights and share viewpoints with like-minded exhibit and event industry peers in the Experiential Marketing Thought Leaders group.
“EXHIBITOR is the place for trade show and corporate event marketers on LinkedIn.” This group is powered by Exhibitor Media Group, publishers of EXHIBITOR magazine, and producers of EXHIBITORLIVE and EXHIBITOR FastTrak conferences.
This group is tailored to all event professionals around the globe and allows members to “network, learn and bounce off the talent and experience of our peers.”
Trade Show Professionals is a group that is dedicated to those in the trade show, expo, exhibiting, and conference segments of the events industry and includes professionals with a variety of backgrounds from event planners to conference organizers to trade show staff.
Go LIVE Together is a “coalition of leaders and businesses that comprise a diverse, valuable, and vibrant live events ecosystem. The coalition is assembled to ensure the voices and concerns of the live events industry are addressed in local, state and federal relief, safety, and stimulus funding related to COVID-19.”
The Brand Experience Collective is powered by MC², and the group’s focus is to bring experiential and event marketers together to discuss “today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities” amid COVID-19.
Event Planning and Event Management is the largest LinkedIn community for event professionals and is powered by Event Manager Blog. The purpose of the group is to “educate, inform, inspire, & connect event professionals globally.”
This group is for brand activation professionals across all industries and provides members with an “open forum to discuss ideas and strategies that cut through the clutter and influence buyer behavior.”
